APEC Voices of the Future 2022 Opening

Bangkok (November 12, 2022): The APEC Voices of the Future Programme 2022 will have its Opening Ceremony on Sunday, 13 November at Vajiravudh College, Bangkok, Thailand.

Co-Organised by the APEC Voices Leadership Council and the Thai Working Committee, the Voices of the Future programme brings together youth delegates and accompanied educators from across 21 Asia-Pacific economies to discuss issues affecting the region. Under the theme of “Open. Connect. Balance, the APEC 2022 seeks to OPEN to all opportunities, CONNECT in all dimensions, and BALANCE in all aspects and strengthened to be more adept, agile, and result-oriented in the post-COVID world. The program is also a platform for the youth to connect and engage with regional business and political leaders on important regional issues.

 

This year, APEC Voices of the Future Programme 2022, hopes to play an important role in encouraging the young delegates to embody the APEC mission of creating a “free and open trade and investment, promoting and accelerating regional economic integration and encouraging economic” in the Asia-Pacific economies.

 

In partnership with Kiatnakin Phatra Financial Group, NaRai Intertrade ( NaRaYa), Sripatum University, Vajiravudh College and APEC 2022 Thailand, this will be the first year that Thailand is hosting the Voices of the Future Programme. The Thailand youth delegates have attended APEC Voices of the Future summits held in Russia (2012), Indonesia (2013), China (2014) the Philippines (2015), Peru (2016), Vietnam (2017), Papua New Guinea (2018), Malaysia (held virtually in 2020), New Zealand (held virtually in 2021).

About APEC Voices of the Future Program

The Voices of the Future Program was officially launched in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and held its inaugural summit in 1999 in New Zealand. The program is held in conjunction with the APEC Leaders' Week and brings together youth representatives from across 21 Asia-Pacific economies to discuss and exchange their perspectives on issues currently facing the region.
